Update from the Coaches
Welcome to Our New Squads & The Year Ahead

Dear Texas Cheer and Pom Alumni, What an exciting time to be part of the Texas Spirit family! We are thrilled to introduce our 2025–26 Texas Cheer and Pom teams, following an incredible round of tryouts in April. Our new team members officially kicked off the season with our first practice and team meeting earlier this month, and the energy and enthusiasm they’re bringing is already setting the tone for an amazing year.
Check out the official announcements of our new squads here:
• Texas Cheer Orange Squad - Coed
• Texas Cheer White Squad - All Girl
• Texas Pom Squad

We’re now looking ahead to Work Week this July, where both Cheer and Pom will dive into intense practices, team development, and bonding events. It’s one of our favorite times of the summer as we build trust, spirit, and the foundation of our season.
Cheer and Mascots will head to UCA College Camp in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, joining other top-tier SEC programs for a week of training and tradition. Meanwhile, Texas Pom will be attending the ProAction Dance Convention, where they’ll learn innovative timeout routines and performances that you’ll see throughout the season during game breaks. A special thank you to Loyce Bates-Dettman, who helped us kick off our 25-26 Speaker Series with an inspiring and thoughtful message. We are so grateful for our alumni who continue to pour into the program and help guide the next generation of Longhorn leaders.
We can't wait to share more updates as the season progresses. Thank you for your continued support and Hook ‘Em!
Warmly,
Blair Taylor
